Walter M. Skorch, 67, of Du Bois, passed away at 1:30 A.M., Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Walter was a steel worker for Inland Steel in East Chicago, Indiana.  He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois and the Steel Workers Union Local 1010.
He was born August 8, 1937 at Chicago, the son of Walter P. and Helen (Walkowiaki) Skorch.
He married Ardith A. Jarrett on August 6, 1960 at the St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Whiting, Ind. and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Bois, one son - David Lewis Skorch and wife Diane of Pinckneyville, two brothers - Tom Skorch and wife Rose of Du Bois and Stanley Skorch and wife Toni of Ludington, Mich., mother-in-law - Anna Jarrett of Du Quoin, two grandchildren - Jessica Skorch and Michael Skorch, both of Pinckneyville, three nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son - Steven Walter Skorch.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 15, 2005 at the St Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois with Fr. Daniel Jurek officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 P.M., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Interment will be in the St. Charles Cemetery at Du Bois.
Friends may make memorials to Luke Memorial Hospice, Marshall Browning Hospital or St. Charles Catholic Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
